Police have discovered the bodies of two adults and two infants inside a Massachusetts home after an officer stopped by the property to conduct a well-being check.
Authorities have blocked off a two-story, multi-family home in Arlington, a Boston suburb north of Cambridge.
A source told Fox 25 that the weapon appeared to have been involved in the incident is some type of cutting tool.
Arlington Police Chief Fred Ryan told the Boston Herald that an officer stopped by the home to conduct a well-being check and discovered the bodies. Ryan told The Boston Globe that a caretaker for the children called in and asked for the family to be checked on.
Police and the Middlesex County district attorney's office are investigating.
"I'm heartsick for the kids. It's heartbreaking," neighbor Amy Iannelli, 74, told the Boston Herald.
