DEVELOPING:
Shots were fired Saturday night near Vice President Biden’s home in Delaware, the Secret Service said Sunday.
The agency said the incident occurred on a public road outside the security perimeter of the Wilmington, Del.-area home. Agents at the residence heard shots, and one agent saw a vehicle fleeing the scene, authorities said.
The vice president and wife Jill were not home at the time of the incident.
A vehicle attempted to pass a police cruiser that was securing the outer perimeter of the vice president’s residence, which resulted in the driver being arrested for resisting arrest, authorities also said.
