Hillary Clinton, a likely 2016 presidential candidate, will address her email controversy in the next few days, Fox News confirmed Monday evening.

News reports last week revealed that Clinton as secretary of state from 2009 to 2013 used a personal Internet server and at least one private email account to conduct official business.

She will likely address the issue at a New York media event, sources said.

Clinton is expected to respond to the controversy amid calls from top Democrats to explain why she didn’t send and receive emails on her official government account.

“Step up and come out and state exactly what the situation is, Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., told NBC on Sunday. "She is the leading candidate, whether it be Republican or Democrat, for the next president. ... From this point on, the silence is going to hurt her."

Fox News’ Serafin Gomez contributed to this report.
